This is a full alphabetical index of all 68 Quenya cardinal numbers loaded into the current dictionary. The letter list at the top of the index will take you to each first entry starting with that letter. There is also a reverse index (English to Quenya). For fractions, please see this list; for ordinal numbers, see this list. For a table by numerical value, please see the numbers page.
Each cardinal number links to its own page giving the translation, and a link to find examples of its occurrence in the sample texts. Quenya uses a cardinal number in much the same way that English does, to count or describe quantities. For quantities, a number is placed (uninflected) after the noun that it counts. Lexically, a cardinal number is inflected like a noun, but syntactically there are few cases where a cardinal number would be inclined as anything other than nominative singular, except for the nominative plural of units like tens and hundreds.
Larger numbers are built by listing the components from smaller units to larger ones. A more detailed explanation of numbers in Quenya is currently out of scope for this page.
