3	Leuca ?? ?? ?? aita Þoron ar lapiénes insë os i Þoronwa lango.	             	A Serpent had succeeded in surprising an Eagle and had wrapped himself around the Eagle's neck.
	I Þoron únë polë anya i Leuca, utwa memwen utwa nappanten.	            	The Eagle could not reach the Serpent, neither with beak nor claws.
	Orro menelenna amavilles, lan rinces quaþë öa cottrya.	         	Far into the sky he soared trying to shake off his enemy.
	Mal i Leuca quarnë ambë tunga, ar lencavë i Þoron nannunyë nunenna, únefila föanen.	                	But the Serpent's hold only tightened, and slowly the Eagle sank back to earth, gasping for breath.
4	Restassë Laulemo ecestanen cennë i ?? mahtalë.	       	A Countryman chanced to see the unequal combat.
	Ofelmenen i arata Þornen, hlinces arë ar ron lehtanë i lápiéla Leuca ar leryanë i Þoron.	                 	In pity for the noble Eagle he rushed up and soon had loosened the coiling Serpent and freed the Eagle.
5	I Leuca nánë urruxa.	    	The Serpent was furious.
	Únë ecë sen nacë i tiritë Restassë Laulemo.	        	He had no chance to bite the watchful Countryman.
	Minomë pentes i yulë-rómanna, ya linganë i Restassë Laulemova quiltassë, ar hloitanesses minna carcaryallon.	                	Instead he struck at the drinking horn, hanging at the Countryman's belt, and into it let fly the poison of his fangs.
6	I Restassë Laulemo sí ener mennë mar.	       	The Countryman now went on toward home.
	Olanes soica menessë, quantanes rómarya ehtelessë, ar amna yulúvanes.	           	Becoming thirsty on the way, he filled his horn at a spring, and was about to drink.
	Engë vercála hyassë höa rámato.	     	There was a sudden rush of great wings.
	Þorila, i Þoron mampë i hloireä róma rehtoryava malto, ar villë öa ósa na nurta sa yassë aluvallë encë san a-tuvë.	                       	Sweeping down, the Eagle seized the poisoned horn from out his savior's hands, and flew away with it to hide it where it could never be found.
