Note: The ambiguity of phrases like i hesto atanion ú macilo “the captain of men [is] without a sword” (which could also just mean “the captain of men without a sword”) is such that the normally optional verb ná “is” might be reintroduced: i hesto atanion ná ú macilo. This use of ná is discussed in Chapter 2, Section §2.3.
