【3】 Löastassë parca vilwisto, yá i Aiwin hraië encë tuvë yulda, soica Corco túvë ulma ó nicë nén sassë.
► In a spell of dry weather, when the Birds could find very little to drink, a thirsty Crow found a pitcher with a little water in it.
¶ Mal i ulma nánë halla ar haryanë náha latya, epetai anahtai néves alavéla lí, i Corco lá poldë anya i nén.
► But the pitcher was high and had a narrow neck, and no matter how he tried, the Crow could not reach the water.
¶ I penya vëo feldë i qualuvas soiciënen.
► The poor thing felt as if he must die of thirst.
【4】 Epë tenna túlë sen.
► Then an idea came to him.
¶ Leptanes lië sarninci ar lantanes tai mina i ulma min apa enta.
► Picking up some small pebbles, he dropped them into the pitcher one by one.
¶ Ilya sarnincenen i nén oronyë nicë hallë lá fai tenna teldavë nánes faren arë yuliëryan.
► With each pebble the water rose a little higher until at last it was near enough so he could drink.
