1	Pímótar mennë i siryo ráva na luhtya soiciërya.	        	An ant went to the bank of a river to quench its thirst,
2	I turwa sirië hainë se, ar amna quondes.	         	and being carried away by the rush of the stream, was on the point of drowning.
3	Cucua ye handë aldassë or i nén lempë lassë ar lávë sa lanta sírinna ara hye.	                	A Dove sitting on a tree overhanging the water plucked a leaf and let it fall into the stream close to her.
4	I pímótar rentë to sa ar luntë varna i rávanna.	          	The Ant climbed onto it and floated in safety to the bank.
5	Rongo cato aiwe-farastar tullë ar tarnë nu i alda, ar sestanë himma-tuistaryar meter i cucua, ye handë i olbassen.	                     	Shortly afterwards a birdcatcher came and stood under the tree, and laid his lime-twigs for the Dove, which sat in the branches.
6	I pímótar tuntanë menestarya, ar nasantë hye talassë.	         	The Ant, perceiving his design, stung him in the foot.
7	Ñwalmallo i farastar hantë undu i tuistar, ar i hlón tyarnë i cucua amavilë.	               	In pain the birdcatcher threw down the twigs, and the noise made the Dove take wing.
